CCJW FACULTY DESCRIPTIONS

 

Michal Cohen - received her Masters in Social Work from Loyola University, Chicago, and has served as a therapist for Jewish Family and Community Services for the past ten years. In addition, Michal runs self-esteem workshops for teenagers and teaches Marriage classes to Jewish brides. She is the Rebbetzin of West Rogers’ Park’s largest Congregation, Adas Yeshurun and she and husband Rabbi Zev Cohen, have 4 children and one grandchild.

 

 

Esti Deutsch teaches Jewish marriage classes for Chicago Torah Network, introducing women with little or no Jewish background to the beauty and power of Jewish tradition. She is also a computer consultant at Trustmark Insurance.

 

 

Chani Friedman earned her Bachelors degree in Medical Technology from the University of Colorado and her Masters in Educational Administration from Loyola University Chicago. She is the Supervisor, Government Programs Liaison, and the Assistant Director of the Computer Department in Associated Talmud Torahs and has taught Jewish History in Hanna Sack Bais Yaakov for the last 25 years. She also lectures frequently to Jewish groups around the city.

 

 

 

 

Debbie Greenblatt has been involved in teaching and counseling Jewish women for more than twenty-five years. Her insightful and powerful presentations on topics such as practical applications of Jewish philosophy and personal relationships have touched the minds and hearts of all those who attend her classes. Debbie Greenblatt lectures frequently within the New York Metropolitan area and across the country.

 

 

Miriam Jaffe has been involved in Jewish education for the last 24 years and currently is a popular teacher and Activities Director for the Ida Crown Jewish Academy. In addition, Miriam teaches Marriage classes to Jewish brides and organizes community-run weddings for Jewish couples who can not afford to pay for their own. She and her husband, who serves as a Kashrut Supervisor for the Orthodox Union, are the proud parents of six children, ages eleven to twenty.

 

 

 

A descendant of a great Chassidic dynasty and a survivor of the Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp, Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis has dedicated her life to educating and inspiring Jews of all backgrounds about the beauty of Torah and its relevance in the modern world.  She writes a weekly column for the Jewish Press, teaches Torah on TV and over the Internet, and has authored two best-selling books, ‘The Committed Life’ and ‘The Committed Marriage’.

 

 

Robin Loeb earned a B.A. in English and a Certificate in Women’s Studies from the University of Florida, Gainesville, in 1991, and her Law Degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1996.  Prior to law school, Robin studied in Israel for six weeks at Aish HaTorah’s Jerusalem Fellowship Program.  Most recently, Robin worked for the American Bar Association’s Commission on Women in the Profession and Membership & Marketing Department and is currently a stay-at-home mother of three children.

 

Michele Wolff is a staff therapist at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. She is also the director of The Midlife and Beyond Program for Maturing Adults at the Institute. Ms. Wolff earned her Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy and Clinical Fellowship at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. She is also the Clinical Research and Program Coordinator at the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center at Northwestern University. Ms. Wolff treats adult individuals, couples and families.
